Operatíva has been the authorised distributor of international medical device manufacturers in Slovakia since 1998 – electrophysiology, cardiac rhythm management, structural heart, interventional cardiology and radiology.
The electrophysiology labs in every cardiac centre in Slovakia were designed and commissioned with us: room layout, EP technology, the optical network for the equipment, staff training and ongoing service. That is not a delivery. That is a working lab.
For a manufacturer entering Slovakia this means one thing: we do not only import the technology, we get it into clinical practice.

We are a team of thirty. Fifteen work in the field and every one of them is a clinical specialist. Fifteen more stand behind them: customer service, regulatory affairs, reimbursement categorisation and public tenders.

Electrophysiology is where we are best known. It is not where we stop.
What we handle
Reimbursement categorisation
We list devices in the categorisation register of the Slovak Ministry of Health. Without that listing there is no reimbursement from public health insurance, and in practice no hospital sales.
Public tenders
Hospitals in Slovakia buy through public procurement. We enter the tenders and prepare the documentation.
Clinical support at the procedure
Fifteen people in the field, and every one of them is a clinical specialist who stands at the procedure – including those responsible for sales. The physician does not receive a shipment; they receive a person.
Market entry
Registration, market research and introduction into clinical practice, including the first implants and procedures.
Logistics and stock
Our own stock and delivery to sites across the country.
Service and training
In-house service, and training for clinical staff shaped by what each site actually needs.
Two examples, not promises
Tendyne. For transcatheter mitral valve replacement we had the reimbursement restriction changed from a single centre to every centre. That is not a delivery. That is access to a therapy patients would otherwise not receive.
ECMO. We have been developing extracorporeal life support in Slovakia for more than thirteen years – from the first sites through staff training to ECPR.
Where we are seen. We attend the leading international congresses across every field we represent – EHRA, London Valves, the Frankfurt congresses and dozens more. Meetings and training for Slovak sites are built around what the physicians ask for.
At home we are not only an attendee. We have partnered the Central Slovak Cardiology Day for fifteen years. With Cardion we co-founded the Czech–Slovak MTV CLUB and LAA CLUB nine years ago. We support the Slovak and Czech Symposium on Arrhythmias and Cardiac Pacing of the Slovak Association of Cardiac Arrhythmias, and other professional events.
